Hi Reach offer the following HIANZ Silvercard courses,  Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and Safety Harness when Working at Heights. Both are NZQA accredited courses, designed to ensure that operators have adequate knowledge and competency to use EWPs or a Harness safely.​

Elevated Work Platform (EWP)

​

The following NZQA Unit Standards are achieved through the EWP course:

23966 – Describe types of EWP, and legislative requirements for their use (Theory)
23960 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a scissor lift EWP
23962 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a self-propelled boom lift EWP

The following NZQA Unit Standards are also offered by prior arrangement only:

23961 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a Truck Mounted EWP
23963 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a Trailer Mounted EWP
23964 – Assess the worksite, prepare and operate a Vertical Lift EWP

Attendees gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in:

• Types of EWP

• EWP compliance requirements

• Health and safety legislative requirements

• Hazard identification, risk assessment and controls

• Safe operation of EWP, including pre and post operational checks

• Basic harness use

• Emergency procedures

Harness

​

The following NZQA Unit Standards are achieved through the Harness course:

23229 – Use a Safety Harness when working at Heights.

​

Attendees credited with this unit standard are able to:

​

• Demonstrate knowledge of the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment

• Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment; – check and fit a safety harness system

• Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height

• Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be implemented in the event of a fall.
